Michael’s efforts in leading the Chapter’s 250 members and apprentices in innovation and self-sufficiency began with the establishment of the ‘Swinging for Junior’s’ Fundraiser in 2005 (still in existence today). The event benefits one of the nations well known junior programs, the Ricki Rarick Junior Golf Program. His forward thinking approach to governance and style of engagement led the Chapter to conduct its first Business Planning Session ever, and ultimate vision to enhance its Education, Apprentice, and Membership Committee’s. His efforts also ensured that the first Chapter Coordinator was placed in the Chapter to serve its members and apprentices. The establishment of the ‘Home for the Holiday’s Charitable Program for the homeless and MEMBER FIRST initiative paved the way for better communication and involvement of Chapter professionals. These hallmarks of his Presidency set the stage for his election as Southwest Section PGA Secretary.
